As paper and board mills use increasing amounts of closed-loop (recycled) water, the risk of clogging in fine spray nozzles rises; the continuously self-cleaning design of the Jet Wing Liquid Filter separates sinking, floating and suspended solids in a single process step, without backwashing, filter change or a parallel standby system.

Working Principle
Inside the body of the Jet Wing Liquid Filter is a stationary filter cylinder. Contaminated water enters from the top, and the separated solids are discharged from the bottom. Around the filter element, a precision-balanced rotor turns, carried only on the motor shaft — contactless and wear-free.
The rotor's rotation accelerates the liquid, throwing heavy particles outward by centrifugal force. Floating and suspended solids that would normally clog the filter are neutralized by two Jet Wings on the rotor — hydrodynamically shaped wipers that create a direct vacuum effect on the filter surface. This continuous low-pressure zone reliably prevents the filter from clogging and ensures stable, maintenance-free operation.

Applications
The Klass Jet Wing Liquid Filter can be deployed at different points in the paper machine's process water cycle — from polishing filtration to fibre recovery.
Process Water Polishing Filtration (Clarified Filtrate)
Converts clarified filtrate from microflotation into super-clarified filtrate; protects the fine spray nozzles used for wire and felt showers from clogging.
- In a field trial, solids content of 1,878 mg/l was reduced to 342 mg/l with a 100 µm filter element (an 81.7% reduction)
