Applications
Villforth forming fabrics are specially designed to meet the unique requirements of each paper machine. The optimal fabric configuration is determined by considering every parameter, from raw material input to machine type, speed and capacity targets.
Board, Liner & Corrugated
Packaging paper production is growing rapidly with the expansion of e-commerce giants like Amazon and Zalando. Custom-designed Villforth fabrics ensure maximum efficiency from the forming section.
- Reduction of embedded fibres (fabric marking) due to a fine surface structure
- Reduced fibre loss and increased retention
- Clean fabric release after the couch roll, good sheet release
- Minimum power consumption with maximum drainage capacity
- Savings on expensive chemicals such as retention agents
Graphic Papers
In Germany, more than 23 million tons of paper are produced annually in over 3,000 different grades. Premium-quality magazines and brochures benefit from the high-tech forming fabrics manufactured in Reutlingen.
- Ideal drainage channels woven on the world's most modern looms
- Perfect sheet forming with a high Fiber Support Index (FSI)
- Long life and low energy consumption with Vextreme® monofilament technology
- Good sheet release at the couch roll → superior print quality
Tissue & Hygiene Papers
Tissue fabrics developed specifically for products such as napkins, toilet paper and paper towels make the paper softer, more absorbent and higher in volume.
- 50% increase in absorbency with TAD (Through Air Drying) systems
- ~20% reduction in fabric use — with equivalent paper size and quality
- Dimensional stability and long life with TOPAZ NT® coating
- Optimum structure suited to high-speed machines
- Reinforced seam stability through a special seaming procedure
Specialty Papers
Customized solutions for niche applications such as tea bag, filter, cigarette, decor, wallpaper base, banknote and security papers.
- Long fabric life with low energy consumption
- Drainage characteristics synchronized to machine type and raw material
- Even formation and a flat surface → superior print quality
- A comprehensive product portfolio suited to all machine configurations
Nonwoven
Antistatic woven solutions with special material content for airlaid and other nonwoven production lines. High-performance materials such as PEEK and PPS are used.
- Antistatic Loadrunner® fabrics — discharge electrostatic charge in three dimensions
- PEEK / PPS material option → resistant to high temperature and pressure
- R&D work and optimization tailored to the customer's process
Process Belts & Technical Textiles
Process belts for numerous technical applications, including pulp drainage, engineering textiles, the leather industry, food, building materials and glass fibre nonwoven.
- Resistant to mechanical, thermal and chemical effects
- Wide range of surface textures, from ultra-fine to coarse embossing
- Clipper, coil pin, spiral pin or endless woven seam types
- Including drum coverings — installed by experienced technicians
