Paper additives (sizing agents, dry and wet strength agents, pigments, dyes, optical brighteners and coating binders) remain as a component of the finished product, while process chemicals (retention and flocculation agents, defoamers and deaerators) control the production process and keep the system clean.
Efficient production and coating processes require the masterful preparation and exact dosing of these auxiliary substances; the chemicals are applied either directly into the paper stock or at specific points on the machine or in the coating.
