DDT / IDT 660-1500 — Dart Drop Tester

Determining the puncture energy of films and thin materials with a free-falling dart. Two models with 660 or 1500 mm drop height: the standard staircase-method DDT and the instrumented IDT with direct energy measurement.

The Dart Drop Tester determines the puncture energy of films with a free-falling dart using the 'staircase' method; both drop weight and drop height can be varied. The device is fully pneumatic: foot control leaves both of the user's hands free for specimen clamping, and the holder guard only allows the specimen to be secured cleanly. The dart is released by a two-hand-operated mechanism.

The instrumented IDT model adds an integrated energy measurement system to the same mechanical structure: puncture energy is measured directly and numerically on every single drop — eliminating the need for the statistical multi-specimen approach of the staircase method. Coesfeld WIN software guides the user through the test process and instantly generates a standard-compliant report.
